Carolyn Herzog is a Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President in Symantec’s Legal and Public Affairs department, based in Mountain View, California, where she is responsible for the legal enablement of Symantec’s global enterprise selling programs, Product Legal, Americas Sales and Services, the Privacy Program Office, the Office of Ethics and Compliance, Litigation and Employment.
Carolyn moved to California in July of 2013 from her prior role as the head of legal and public affairs for Symantec’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, based in London, UK. She previously managed the legal support to other areas of Symantec’s business including the global services and support organization, IP, marketing and trade compliance, and was based out of the Washington, DC area. Symantec, a Fortune 500 company, is a global leader in providing security solutions to our customers – from consumers and small businesses to the largest global organizations. Symantec operates in over 50 countries. Before joining Symantec, Carolyn was the general counsel for AXENT Technologies, and worked in the international development arena, both in the non-profit sector and with the World Bank in Washington, DC.
Carolyn served as a board member of ACC Europe, and previously served as vice president, and as chair of the annual meetings in Amsterdam and Barcelona. She currently sits on the International Law Committee and the Advisory Committee of the ACC Docket.
She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband, and their two daughters.
