Megan Belcher is Vice President and Chief Counsel – Employment Law and Compliance for ConAgra Foods, Inc., a Fortune 250 consumer foods company with over 35,000 employees and sales of approximately $18 billion annually.  In her position she leads the team of attorneys and professionals who handle the labor, employment, benefits, and compensation related legal work for the company, which includes managing all employment litigation and employee related legal matters nationally and internationally.  In addition, she created and leads the company’s enterprise-wide compliance initiative, including heading up the company’s Compliance Council.  Prior to joining ConAgra Foods in 2007, Megan practiced in the labor and employment department with an Am Law 200 law firm defending and counseling large employers on their labor and employment related matters.

Megan is the former Chair of the Committee of the Year award winning Employment and Labor Law Committee of the Association of Corporate Counsel (“ACC”), and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board for the ACC Docket.  ACC also named her to its inaugural class of “Top Ten 30 Somethings” in 2012.  For the past three years, Ethisphere magazine has named her as a Top Ethics and Compliance Officers in its annual Attorneys Who Matter listing.

Megan participates in Project 5/165 and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Women, Influence & Power in the Law conference.  Inside Counsel magazine has also named her to the R3-100 Next Generation of Women General Counsel list for 2015.  Based on her work with the Women, Influence & Power in the Law network, Megan founded Drinks Among Friends in 2014, an initiative focused on providing development resources to women lawyers, with the overarching goal of empowering women in their legal practices, in their roles as business women, and in their aspirations to lead.

Megan is an honors graduate of the University of Missouri and Boston College Law School, and holds a Master Certificate in Human Resource Studies from Cornell University.
