Stephen Donovan is the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for International Paper, a global leader in the paper and packaging industry. His responsibilities include overseeing IP’s ethics and compliance program across 33 countries; providing corporate compliance training for almost 60,000 employees; and managing Corporate Security and internal investigations. Mr. Donovan began his career as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining IP, he served as an associate for Foley & Lardner in Washington, D.C.; as an inhouse attorney with a large telecommunications equipment manufacturer; and as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University Law School. He holds a J.D. from the Catholic University of America, an M.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, a B.A. in Economics from the University of Oklahoma, and a postgraduate diploma in EU competition law from the School of Law in King’s College, London.
